In my most recent job, I worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant who provided outstanding healthcare services to residents at Heartis of Waco Assisted Living and Memory Care. Prior to moving to the United States in 2008, I worked for more than 8 years as a surgical room nurse in a cosmetic surgery clinic in my native country of Colombia. Additionally, I possess strong attention to detail and am able to keep accurate and concise written service records. My interpersonal and communication skills are outstanding: I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in English, and I am adept at helping people to open up and to feel at ease. Patients have told me on many occasions that they feel comfortable talking to me about some of their deepest personal matters and feel confident that I will provide assistance to them without judgment. Family is most important to me and I understand how important it is to have a caring, loving person taking care of loved ones. I have cared for family members on a long term basis. One had a heart attack then a stroke and needed complete care for over 3 years. Another has cancer and needed care for over a year. I always approach my responsibilities with care and compassion, remembering to treat other as I would like to be treated.

I decided to become a caregiver after taking care of multiple grandparents with terminal illness.
