In my most recent job, I worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant who provided outstanding healthcare services to residents at Heartis of Waco Assisted Living and Memory Care. Prior to moving to the United States in 2008, I worked for more than 8 years as a surgical room nurse in a cosmetic surgery clinic in my native country of Colombia. Additionally, I possess strong attention to detail and am able to keep accurate and concise written service records. My interpersonal and communication skills are outstanding: I am fluent in Spanish and proficient in English, and I am adept at helping people to open up and to feel at ease. Patients have told me on many occasions that they feel comfortable talking to me about some of their deepest personal matters and feel confident that I will provide assistance to them without judgment. Honesty, patience & being dependable are very important when working with the elderly. I like working with people, especially one on one and giving them all the attention they need/want. Being a caregiver has been challenging at times but it has also been rewarding to the fact I've been more appreciative in a job I very much love. The one thing I love the most about being a caregiver is before I leave them, I make sure they're feeling better and have a smile on their face.

About Me, I have been a caregiver for over 15 years, first in a nursing home in my home town of Hillsboro, TX.. I worked as a CNA and also the Business Office for 10 years in the same facility. Then I tried Hospice care for about a year. Then I was a private sitter for a year and a half to an eldery woman. I have a passion for taking care of others who need it! And will take care of my patients to the best of my ability.

When I completed high school I went to college not knowing what I wanted to do for a job. I saw that my cousin who has Down Syndrom could not communicate with my family very well as she could not speak. When starting college I took sign language to communicate with my her. This became my joy and I loved helping children and Adults with mental and physical disabilities in their home and in the community. I strive to be able to listen and understand each person's needs and wants with caring and compassion for each person. I have worked with all ages and a range of disabilities including but not limited to, Scoliosis, Down Syndrom, ALS and Alzhelmer's.

I'm a Certified Nurse Aid been in the nursing field for 14yrs I love doing what I do best and this is helping and caring for others as family. Makes me proud and happy to know I can make a difference in someone's life

I genuinely love being able to take care of people and especially the elderly. I have always been very passionate about being there for the elderly and taking care of them as if they're my own grandparents.
