Hello All! I am 20 years old and I absolutely love being a caregiver and am currently looking to pursue my CNA license so that I can better help my clients from a medical aspect. My most memorable experience as a caregiver has been working with a wonderful dialysis patient and helping to educate her family members and myself more about how to live a healthy and happy life while receiving hemodialysis. I was able to create an effective diet and work hand in hand with the dialysis clinic! Truly the most rewarding part of being a caregiver is the smiles I get to see everyday when my clients are happy because they have some stress relieved. I started with the State of California taking certification classes to help someone needing double hip replacements and couldn't walk and was recovering from breast cancer. Today, she is a walking survivor! Next I joined Phoenix Health Care and took classes on immobile patients such as transferring and changing bedding. I was sent to several different situations including a hospice patient. My last position was with an elderly woman in her home that had several serious issues, one of which was COPD. It became a joyful experience when, after working with her diet and routines, that she actually became symptom free and actually wanted to participate in activities again. Caregiving became a lifestyle for me and I was honored to be able to help in any way that was needed because I could.
