I am currently a student at Pima community college pursuing my RN degree. I left a position as a corporate executive to pursue a more satisfying career that would allow me to utilize my knowledge and abilities to care for others. I have alot of empathy for older ones. They are so vulnerable. I feel i need to protect them. I had such a loving relationship with my grandparents that i have always enjoyed older ones company. I know i will take good care of them so it makes me feel good. I am older but have no health issues and can carry out my duties.

My best friend was my Grandmother. She lived with us when she couldn't be by herself anymore. Then it became too much on us we made her home in a local nursing home. Not only would I visit my grandmother but I got to know many other residents at the facility. My best friend passed away in 1994. I graduated high school in '95 and became a CNA in '96. Every person has a story and I like to hear it with my heart. I always say that I treat people the way I would like to be treated.

My name is Amanda I am 19 years old. I enjoy being a CNA because no matter the person and situation they have a story.
