I BECAME A CAREGIVER, PROFESSIONALLY, AFTER TAKING CARE OF BOTH MY PARENTS , MY DEAR SISTER, AND MY HUSBAND, WHO WERE ALL TERMINALLY ILL AND ON HOSPICE FOR MANY MONTHS EACH. EVEN AS A CHILD I TOOK CARE OF ALL MY DOZENS OF COUSINS AS BABIES, EVERY CHANCE I GOT. CARING FOR OTHERS HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY PASSION IN LIFE. I AM COMPASSIONATE AND CARE FOR OTHERS AS I WOULD WANT MY FAMILY MEMBERS TO BE CARED FOR. QUALITY OF LIFE IS SO IMPORTANT. MY COMPASSION FOR MAKING SURE THAT EACH PERSON RECEIVE QUALITY CARE, NO MATTER THE NEED, IS MY HAPPINESS AS A CAREGIVER. AND BY THE WAY, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I LOVE ANIMALS. ALSO, I RESPECT THE FACT THAT SOME FOLKS SMOKE. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NEVER SMOKED MYSELF, MY COMPASSIONATE NATURE ALLOWS ME TO BE CONSIDERATE AND UNDERSTANDING OF MY PATIENTS WISHES. ONE MORE THING. ...I HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR, AND A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, WHICH I FEEL, IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT GETS US THROUGH LIFE OPTIMISTICALLY!! .

I am an outgoing person, I am passionate about many things in life. I became a CNA (certified Nurses Assistant) in 2015 after the passing of my mom in 2011. I truly enjoy taking care of others and helping them out in anyway that I can. I love learning about who my client/patient/resident was before and who they are now. I driven to make sure that I am doing my best and giving my all every single day. Making sure that all needs are met and no task is left undone. I take pride in my work.

The journey of becoming a caregiver began when I was little girl, whereby, I grew up with my mother who was a village traditional caregiver in an African setting. It was through this background that, i began the journey of being a caregiver mentored by my own mother. I took several courses to meet the state requirement of being a qualified Caregiver. I took course on CNA and attained a certificate in Certified Nursing Assistant. Through my practice as a caregiver, I love preparing for their meals and seeing a resident improving from one stage to another and being independent to dependent. I also like my personal accomplishment and very proud of my resourcefulness, flexibility and determination. I enjoyed mostly the routine activities of the daily living and taking residents for recreation centers and to their Primary Care Practitioner. I am proud because of my rewarding experiences in my life even with the difficult residents I came across and being able support them in daily basis regardless of anything.

I am currently going to school to become a nurse. I have always had a passion to help people and make their days better. I have a very bubbly and outgoing personality, as well as a good sense of humor. Making sure people can still have great life's, and helping them accomplish at least 1 thing a day is what drove me to be the best caregiver. Hello my name is Anastasia and I am a mother of two beautiful girls. I became a caretaker shortly before I had my first daughter as more of a means to an end income wide and fell in love with helping people. I have dabbled in a few other professions but have always come back to helping and taking care of others. As a teen I became sick and could not walk for about a year. With a lot of hard work and a dedicated medical team I was able to regain my mobility back which has given me a great insight on how people who need care feel while they are in their time of need. I feel that my experience has given me the patience needed to allow others the right amount of time to grow and heal themselves. One thing I do love about my job and feel the most proud of is the fact that I am very into taking care of the whole individual not just their ailment. So in tern I tend to find little drastic changes that others miss and, with my own experience in mind, I am able to better understand the feelings of those who do not like having the extra help. I believe that everyone has their own story and just because of either an ailment or old age that story does not just end. It its my duty as a caretaker to help that person continue that story and live their best life the best they can. Why else would anyone want to be a caretaker.

I've worked as a Care Giver for more than 15 years. I have an extensive amount of experience, and I am honest and committed to my work. My mother was why I'm so motivated to work as a care giver. I loved my mom, and as she grew older, I've helped and assisted her continuously, and I recognized the skill and effort that is needed for care giving. After that, I took classes and started a job with DHS. My employers are always happy with my work, and I'm always there to help, and I'll be there when I'm needed.
