Hi I am Paula I am a private home health care provider. I got into the home health aide field because my grandfather was getting up in age 100 years old.. I decided to get my certification in mental illness and MRDD in addition to Home Health Care this year since the pandemic hit the world so hard.. I whole heartedly love working with the elderly. Growing up I didn't have grandparents from either one of my parents. So working with the elderly gives me the bonding and warmth I missed growing up. I have 3 children so I have a nurturing soul and a lot of patience.

My caregiving experience is caring for family members. I grew up around my grandparents, and my grandfather was a diabetic and also had heart disease. I started giving him insulin shots at age 7. Through the years he was very sick, and along with my mother and grandmother, we gave him around the clock care until his passing. My mother is disabled as well. I assist daily with regular routines. I also have 2 children that I care for on a regular basis. I have also assist with caring for various other family members with illnesses and disabilities.

I am a quiet laid back person. I enjoy spending time with my children, husband and animals. I've been caring for others since I was very young and it gives me purpose in life. I enjoy assisting others with daily activities that are difficult for them to do alone and also being a companion.

I have worked in the medical field for 30 years, specializing in cardiac care, dialysis, surgery, pharmacy, hospice care. I like working nights but will consider days.

I am retired and single. I have a clean criminal background, clean driving record a d proof of vaccination against COVID 19. I am trustworthy, punctual, caring and honest person. A few of my passions in my life are baking and cooking with an emphasis on low salt and low fats heart healthy meals

I started as a CNA when I turned 19 as a divorced single mom with a special needs child and no clue how to proceed.. I couldn't attend school work and tend to a high needs child so I worked and learned everything I could about epilepsy . And as a caregiver I became interested in dementia and Alzheimer's.. the Correlation between the diseases became a fascination for me which translates into the type of care that I provide for my clients. Between growing up in a family owned business where customer service was the TOP priority anticipating a clients basic needs came easily , then learning the specific and special que's and needs of the elderly was a easy cross over that I have loved ever since.. I hold a very dear spot in my heart and mind for so many wise ones, as I privately refer to them . I am a 23 year old female. I was born and raised in Lancaster, South Carolina. I spent a few years taking care of my grandfather while he battled with ALS. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2019. After losing my grandfather, I came to realize that helping the elderly was something that I felt like I was meant to do. To me, caregiving is an extremely rewarding job. Hello, I have been doing this since I can remember at a very young age. It first started with learning from my mother and aiding in my grandmother's care to going with my mother to her client's homes as a caregiver and getting hands-on experience. I soon then applied to a nursing senior home and gained more experience as well as with agencies. I've done pretty much every bit in caregiving that you can think of. I love to meet people, to bond with them, and make a difference in their lives with small amounts of happiness at a time to make their day or to make them feel whole. Some don't always get the care and love that they need to receive and I love to step in to fill those gaps in for clients. I have always gone above and beyond not just because, but because I passionately love being a caregiver. There's a huge reward in caring for a person in what their needs are.

I think my best personality traits that contribute to me being a caregiver are that I am an exceptional listener; people generally tell you exactly what they want if you just listen closely. I am an empathetic, compassionate women who just loves to nurture. What attracted me most to being a caregiver is simply, and not to be redundant, I just want to take care of folks. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the connection and the relationship that inevitably develops. I love to listen to stories and play games and sometimes just simply sit with people as a comfort for them. I think my most proud achievement isn't necessarily something that ends with a award that I have received or a congratulations. My personal achievement is overcoming my obstacles while always keeping a smile on and doing my best to brighten everyone else's day while I'm at it.

I decided to be a caregiver after having a hard time finding someone compassionate and that would truly care for a family member .

I have been a caregiver since I was a child. My Grandfather was bedridden for 15 years with RA and I was the oldest daughter, so I helped my mother with his care. I also cared for my Aunt who suffered from mental illness. She was diagnosed as bipolar and she was also schizophrenic She was also a diabetic with hypertension. I have also been an In Home Care Provider for a non family member who suffered from breast cancer. She lived with me until she passed away which was 34 months. I moved to Somerset to care for my dad who was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure and he was also an insulin dependent diabetic with hypertension and COPD. I cared for him 18 months until his passing and I now I'm a resident of Pulaski County. I'm also a foster parent and I adopted my son from the program when he was 13 and he is now 15. I have a total of 5 children and 4 Grandkids, 2 of which are twins. Caring for others is so good for our hearts, minds and souls. There's no other feeling like helping those in need. God loves us and wants us to do his work which is loving and caring for others as we do ourselves.

I started taking care of my father-in-law and I end up being is full-time care giver for 3 years. I really enjoy doing that I was good at it and decided. That's what I wanted To Do from now on. OK. Taking care of him was something that made me very happy and I was very proud of.
