I am very loyal, protective, intuitive, and caring. I have 21 plus years experience in caregiving. Being a caregiver is not for everyone, but what sets me apart from most is I am a natural empath. Working with people in general requires a natural nurturer; which I am. Helping people young or old allows me to experience people on a different scale. I realised caregiving was my calling about 20 years ago. I was offered a private position and I fell in love with it. I enjoy many aspects of being a caregiver. Everyone is different, so I enjoy learning new things about people. I can honestly say I find it fascinating to have the opportunity to help people from all walks of life. I also am proud to say it takes a special individual to overcome adversities and have a positive outlook even after difficult or complicated experiences.

I have been in health care for over 25 years. I am a CNA. I have worked in nursing home, assisted living, independent living, and MHMR facilities, in a doctor's office and with hospice patients. I help clients remain as independent as possible in the privacy and comfort of their place of residence. My services include: help with ADL's, meal prep, medication reminders, escort / transportation to dr appointments, errands, pre & post op care. I believe that going above and beyond the job I am hired to do provides families with peace of mind knowing their loved one is cared for with dignity and respect when they can't be there themselves. I have worked my way up from a MHMR aide to a CNA, to a Private Caregiver, to a Private Care Manager and Field Supervisor. Spoiling my clients and helping families feel at ease is what I do best.

I am an experienced caregiver and love helping people in different capacities. I am able to help many with a variety of concerns; I have experience caring for those with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, and disabilites requiring wheelchairs. I became a caregiver to be able to help those that where in difficult situations become more self sufficient with my assistance. I enjoy providing clients and families with the emotional and physical support that he or she may need and doing what it takes to motivate my clients well being. My biggest challenge was a client that was not from this country nor had beliefs in our medical practices, yet the son did not want to see his mother pass away. After being introduced to situation, I tried several things to help this son have his mother eat or drink, because she was dehydrating at rapid speeds, it was to no avail. She refused everything we tried and became extremely violent when we tried to force liquids into her. After several conversations with the son and due to their religion, I was asked to talk with their high priest to see if he would approve the family to tube-feeding. After several conversations, I was able to convince the priest and family that this was the only way I could think of to have her regain her weight and become stronger, so that we could continue other care with her. The tube was put in for feeding and after three months, the mother had gained 14 pounds and was able to shift herself more in bed. I take my job seriously and try my best to think outside of the box for the benefits of my clients and families. I see each one as an individual and get total satisfaction knowing that I can achieve the goals set for me by each family member o

I personally became a caregiver for the opportunity of changes that were going on in my life at the time. My husband was diabetic and I had been caring for him. He has since passed away 10 years now. I've always related well with the elderly, perhaps alot to do with my father who was 20 years older than my mother. I kinda grew up with a grandfather I guess you could say. I also was married 14 years to my husband whom was 16 years my senior. I enjoy the company of others the stories they do tell fascinate me. I've always been very domesticated in all the work I've had in the past. Starting at the age of 15 with house cleaning with my neighbor. I continued out on my own with a cleaning business that lasted until my husband became to ill for me to continue at 100%. I had taken on caregiving two years prior, and after 30 years of cleaning something had to give, so I chose to stay with the caregiving. Although after cleaning for most of the clients I had 15 years plus, it was a very difficult decision to be made. They were like family to me and most still are. I enjoy helping others no matter the age or difficulties they may have. I've done care for diabetics, stroke, cancer, vascular brain disease, Alzheimers ,dementia parkinson patients. Mostly hospice care these days. Ive lost my father, mother and now my husband to death, and although difficult at times I never seem to give up. I became a Caregiver because I have a passion and I enjoy caring for people. I like being a Caregiver because it gives me a scent of providing a need in helping people with their everyday activities, desires and needs. One of my personal achievements is seeing and feeling that I am making a positive difference in helping people. I am a Certified Nurse Assistance with an active Basic Life Support (BLS). I have worked as a CNA for over 10 years. I am also a Certified Medical Assistant, with over 4 years experience. I am currently looking for position that will enhance my experience in the medical field. I have been a Licensed Childcare Provider for over 9 years, still with the desire to help people.

I have 20+ years of Cna experience. I have worked in long term care facilities as well as hospice and hospitals.I am now concentrating on home care.

I have graduated and passed my Virginia State CNA exam. As of March 2016, I have my State license to work in Virginia as a CNA. I am interested in working in home health, to help care and assist those needing care or help with daily ADL, s, cooking, cleaning and companionship. I did do some hands on training at a largely known nursing home facility. And also worked for a home health service company located in Manassas, Va as a private duty CNA. I love helping people in need, regardless of how little or big the issue. I have been a Caregiver since the age of 10 when I started babysitting. I am patient, caring, a good listener, compassionate and just enjoy helping people live an easier life. I enjoy the company of the senior generation, I think they deserve to live a happy, healthy, easier life as they get older, they have earned that privilege and I will do whatever it takes for them to live independently for as long as they are able. I am compassionate, dependable, and patient, about the work I do. I have always had a passion for taking care of people, making sure they are safe, and improve in their health. I use to take care of my mother when she would get sick, when I was 15 - 18 years old, and hearing from my mom, she once said, you should be a counselor, but I told her that it could be included into my career goal, but I want to be in the healthcare field. That's when I discovered my gift. I am very diverse and love meeting new people, and have a very good sense of humor. My personal achievements are completing nursing school, in receiving my Certified Nursing Certificate. I also will be continuing my education at the University of District of Columbia in the future.

I am 35 years of age. I became a caregiver because when I was younger my grandmother became very sick and her kids & my family out her in a nursing home. I don't think anyone should have to go into a nursing home if they have family so I wanted to be able to help people to keep their loved ones at home. I'm a great caregiver because I look at all of my clients as my family. I love being a caregiver because I get to meet new people and I make sure they know that they have someone. I started this line of work actually as a janitor of a elderly apartment complex. I enjoyed helping the seniors and making them smile. That's when I knew my calling was elderly care. Caring for another person gives me an amazing feeling of self-worth and happiness. Knowing a person is Happy, comfortable and trust in me to help them get through their day to the best of my ability is self gratifying. Every time I hear someone say to me you are a great person and I can see you love what you do for people and then they thank me for everything that I do makes me want to do more!

I try to pay attention as much as I can by being an active listener. When people are in pain they need someone to listen. Everyone needs help at some point in their lives. It feels good to give back. What I enjoy most is hearing about peoples Journeys through life. I live by a specific standard and bring optimism Wherever I Go. Personally I've been able to heal myself of a lot in my own life.

My best qualities as a caregiver is my ability to be patience, attentive, dependable, & trustworthy. One of my dreams in life is to become a small business owner and provide 24 hour child care services. My nursing experience, I've have learned in a variety of nursing enviroment including medical offices, clinics, and home health services. I am caring , loving , Great sence of humor , I always strive to do better . I have many years of experience with adults and children, I am punctual . I became a caregiver many years ago due to my grandmother was suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia and very little to no mobility due to a stroke. I enjoy the wisdom, stories and companionship of elders .
