I adore elderly people. I would go to elderly facilities and visit a few of the patients, sit and chat or join them in the activity of the day there. I have the best personality for carrying, I'm a very patient person, compassionate and helpful. I guess what attracted me to caregiving is my mom, plus my family is full of nurses. What I enjoy most about caring, is being a companion to my client and hearing their life stories. A personal achievement that I'm proud of, would be a client of mine telling that I was a comfort to her and that she was glad to have me around; Hearing that touched my heart.

I learned at a young age that I truly loved people and "doing" for them. I believe that was the reason I was so successful in our hospitality business. Meeting all types of personalities and caring to their needs was always my pleasure. I have gravitated to the elderly for more years than I can remember. Perhaps because the businesses we (my husband & I had) catered to were mostly retired clientele. What I enjoy most is knowing I am making a positive difference in the life of the individual I have been entrusted to care for and watch over. I am proud of the fact I have developed many long lasting, loving relationships with people I have met throughout my life time. I am a good friend and listener and I deeply love my life, family and friends and I am most grateful for the many wonderful opportunities I have experienced.

I am a dependable and compassionate caregiver. I have been working in the home care industry for over 15 years, since my dad got checked in into a rehab facility. I pride myself on being able to quickly learn new skills and adapt to any situation. Hello, My name is Helen Robinson, I have lived in the DFW area about 7 years now by way of Virginia. I started caregiving shortly before I moved to Texas and instantly LOVED it. I thought how lucky am I to find my calling at 22yrs old. Once I started my giving personality took the lead. I learned that I had such neverending patience with situations I was faced with and that alone carried me through allowing me to fully understand each individuals circumstances and meet those needs the best way fit for the client. Being a caregiver has been so naturally rewarding in itself. Being able to help and seeing the relief that such help provided to families and their loved ones is truly what motivated me to keep helping and soon became what I enjoyed most. I enjoy talking to seniors and have a clear voice that is easy to hear. I have no problem talking loud if someone is hard of hearing. I grew up helping some elderly ladies in my church and my grandma. I would mow lawn, clean, take them shopping, and provide much needed visiting and companionship. I would also drive my Grandma to her multiple knee surgeries (7 to be exact), and help care for her post-surgery. My grandma is the one who taught me to be thorough in my cleaning and do work to be proud of. She now has Alzheimer's and doesn't know who I am, but I still enjoy having one sided conversations with her about the good old days. I was an EMT for several years with our local ambulance, so I'm calm in emergencies also. I have a Compassionate heart, love people, and like to laugh.

My father was a caregiver for 20 yrs... taking care of people with disabilities....he always had a lot of patience for kids and elderly.... I grew up watching him helping others.... I was younger like 23 yrs older when started to work as a facility and was taking care of 12 ladies...they all had different health problems... paralyze half of the body.... Alzaimer... Parkinson's disease... dementia... respiratory problems with oxygen all day... depression and one with very bad skin problems....woke up @ 4 a.m to get myself ready and then check the ladies...give them a shower while my companion lady will prepare breakfast we both have them medication accordingly I never thought I would have the patience to do it but I did and couldn't help it... I got attached to all of them...it requires different type of care for each individual...but it was like having a lot of grandmas by my side...
