I provide quality care to the client and the client needs are always first I'm very dependable and go above and beyond what the job description asks for. I grew up in South Carolina with very loving and kind grandmother and I assisted with her needs before moving to PA I've always felt if someone does care giving simply for income, your burn out time ends rather quickly. I do this job for love and compassion. I adore helping someone that isnt able to tend to their needs on their own and I''m very reliable and honest. I would totally be an asset to your company. When I first meet my future client(s) and family we get to know each other quickly. I am a relaxed easy going person who likes to make the day fun and interesting but yet work productivly while serving your family member (s). Having to re-enter the workforce after raising three daughters and graduating from college led me on a search for a career that fed my soul while serving others. I became a caregiver because a friend at church suggested it and I found it was a perfect fit. What I like most about care giving is that it is multi- faceted work. It not just about the everyday tasks it's about relationships, relating, observing and thinking creatively as to how to meet a special need, hope or want. Its about bringing my whole self into another's life and finding out what they need and then working to make it happen. Recently I was able to take a mother (Alzheimer's) and son (physical disabilities) out to Walmart to do Christmas shopping. It was a great day. The son enjoyed the day and had a great sense of accomplishment and the mom had a chance to see her son realize a goal. They both thanked me in the car on the way home and were so happy. This gave me a great sense of accomplishment as neither if them wanted to venture out much for the first few months. Now, after a year with them we plan out the day and include at least one fun adventure each week. This expands their world, abilities and enhances their lives. I wouldn't have it any other way.

My heart is so full of gratitude whenever I end my day. Everyday is different and you have to be ready to go with what's happening at that moment in time. I am very flexible and dependable in that respect. I love a challenge and I love helping others that need the help. I think it is important though that you let them know that you are there to help do whatever they need help with, not there to tell them what or how to do it, make suggestions and always remember that they are still thinking, feeling human beings.

I have worked for Walmart as a temp., Anna's Linens (until my store closed and the company went out of business). As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and personal fitness trainer, I have a huge heart for taking care of others. This is the greatest gift that God has given me. I am a full time personal trainer and I own my own business but I thought of doing care-giving on the weekends when I am not training clients in order to help pay for a missions trip I am going on this summer to Africa. I started working with an 88 year old female client this past year as an in home trainer. When she fell ill and ended up in the hospital, her family asked me to see her 7 days a week to do care-giving duties as well as physical therapy rehab. Her doctor told me that he did not think she would live through the process and was absolutely amazed when she recovered stronger than before. This has been, as a trainer, and as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, my greatest personal achievement in working with a client. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the relationship I form with both the client and their family members. I have such a heart for the elderly, as I have worked in many skilled nursing facilities doing physical therapy, and I have lost in the past few years, both my grandma and grandpa. I think that it really helps give a family peace of mind when they find a caregiver who is not only competent and capable of taking care of their loved ones, but also someone who truly cares about that persons' well being.

First and foremost I am a single mother to four boys ages 17, 16, 10 & 8. Being a mother is where I learned about caregiver and responsibility. I also have cared for senior in her 80's until she passed away and I also help my father who is fighting cancer. I also have a full time job during the week where I have worked with people with disabilities and disadvantages find work. I also provide care for a two year old toddler every weekend. So as you can see my life is centered around caring and helping others. This is what makes me a better person.
