Hello everyone, My name is Ashley and I have about 7 years of experience being a caregiver. I provide companionship, housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, hygiene, transfers, meal prep and much more! I enjoy being a caregiver because it's important to me that I help individuals continue to stay as independent as possible so they are able to remain in their homes.

I believe in helping others is my perpouse in life. Helping the elderly is the greatest help. I have always been a real people person. I just love it and I'm good at it.

As of October 4, 2022 I'm current with all COVID-19 vaccine shots and on Oct 4, 2022 I got the newest booster shot. I have been a IP ( Independent Provider ) Hospice/CNA nurse for 10 plus years now after obtaining my license in 2011. But been a caregiver for over twenty years now. My certification includes experience working with Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, Autism, Mental Health, Nurse Delegation, Sundowner's, Stroke/Brain Bleed, Stroke with AFO brace, Cerebral Palsy, PSP ( Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and Diabetes. I am CPR certified. I have my own transportation, non smoker, and have a clean driving record. I love working with people, but my passion is to work with senior citizens. I enjoy reading, cooking, scrapbooking, listening to music, love doing puzzles and playing with my three small dogs. I am handy in both house and yard work. The part I love most about what I do is the smiles and enjoyment that I can see on my clients faces from the care and help I give them. My most recent work has consisted of taking care of a ninety-six year old sweet lady with Dementia/cancer. My traits and caregiver experience come from me having to learn to care for my husband after his stroke. I had to learn to do certain exercises. Had to help him through his therapies. Also, had to learn certain diets due to his diabetes. I have gained experience in caring for him. Meaning, baths, feeding, grooming, having to apply caterers, rectal medicine, Etc. Also, had the privilege to help my mother through her cancer experience. I enjoy and take pride in caring for others.

I'm a very patient and reliable person. I enjoy being able to care for others needs. I have a reliable vehicle in order to transport to doctor appointments, shopping etc.

I have very strong organizational skills and am detail oriented. I am able to prioritize and completely multitask in a fast paced environment. My ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and colleagues, I am able to work effectively within a team as well as independently with minimal supervision, I have excellent communication skills, positive work ethic, excellent customer service skills, I maintain a safe environment, dress and change clothing, I observe and monitor my client closely. I will assist with preparing support in physical issues like toileting, resting, grooming, sanitize bed and Bathroom areas and equipment, assist in preparing food and refreshments, serving meals, running errands, and perform light house keeping. I provide compassionate care for the elderly, and serve as companion and confidant.

I understand the need for needing help. I found myself wanting excellent care a few times in my life. I have over 20 years caring for the elderly as well as the young. I have experience with dementia, Althzemers, companionship, Quadroplegic, and oxygen therapy. Caring for other allows me to give back to others.

I had the opportunity to become a caregiver in 2012 to a wonderful 90 year old woman, inside her home. She needed help with ADL's, medication management and administration, travel to medical appointments, etc. She became more of a companion than an employer and I enjoyed this work and working with with her very much. I was a liaison between she and her family and eventually hospice when it came to be her time. It was an amazing experience and one I will forever cherish. A little about me. I have spent many years in the healthcare field. Most of my time was spent at Emanuel Hospital where I worked as an ER Technician and Unit Secretary, in the Emergency Room, Neurologic Trauma Inpatient Unit and the Adult Trauma ICU. I aided the physicians and staff in caring for all types of patients, in all aspects of their care. I'm responsible, stable and very confident in my abilities! Fun, healthy and willing to learn new challenges. I have a reliable car and very clean driving record.

I became a personal care provider when I was going to school for my Social Work degree. I did this for two years while I was in school. Recently, I have gone back to being a personal care provider. I have been in this profession for four years now. I became a caregiver because I have a passion for working with people. I am caring and compassionate. I form trusting relationships with individuals quickly. I am flexible on the pay.

I just always had a passion to help others it's just something I love doing. Being able to give someone that extra help they need so that they can stay in their own homes makes me love what I do even more and also just seeing the joy that I bring into their lives not only makes their day but it also makes mine. Going back to school and receiving 3 certifications was a big accomplishment for me. I am a motivated quick learning who is eager to help others. I am very passionate about my work, I love what I do. Growing up I've always enjoyed helping out my great aunt and all of her friends, she lived to be 105. I love the stories they have tell and helping others when needed. Being a caregiver allows me to show them, that just because they are unable to get around like they use does not make them any less important. My all time personal achievement to me is two things, having the capability to take care of my Grammy and becoming a foster parent to help children in limbo know that they are still loved no matter what. I am currently the mother of 3 beautiful baby boys. I have went as far as I wanted to go in childcare and now it is time for my next quest on my list, being a caregiver. I want to help someone else. I like knowing that I have made some one else's life a little easier. I am proud that I have changed someone's life, didn't expect anything in return and I was happy about it. I am 58 years of age. I worked at Provident Hospital for about 10 years and worked at UIC for a year. I was a Medical Assistant/Ward Clerk. I worked 2 years in the Emergency Room, 8 years working Telemetry, Med Surgery, ICU,OB Gyne, Ortho, Podiatry and Oncology clinic.

I. I became a Caregiver because the word "Caregiver" is what I am. I care for humanity with special needs or partial/full assistance and a giver because I give all I have on my reach to those who need to do the things they can't, for example (ADL's) Activities of Daily Living. 2. I like everything I have done so far as a Caregiver. From experiencing clients with the care of only companion to the care of hospice. Many clients I had done care for with different cases and thats what I like about being a caregiver, because those cases are reality in life that make me stronger when the time comes to my love ones or myself also, the satisfaction I feel when a person says thank you with gratitude. 3. The achievement I am proud of is when a client or patient recuperates from a physical or health problem with my care. 4. I can say about myself is what people had told me in my 37yrs. of age. Also, what I truly considered and had known through my years as a Caregiver. I am lovable, caring, funny, smart, responsible, I have good memory of schedules and program a routine, I am a mom of 3 educated and good children of ages 15, 11 and 8, and I am also happily newlywed with a wonderful man. I love to cook healthy foods, clean and organized. I always tried to make sure the other person is comfortable and happy. I have good sense of humor and I also consider myself honest and respectful with others.

I feel I am a great caregiver because of my passion for Seniors. My Grandmother is 99 years old and she is a big inspiration to me. I became a caregiver after completing a Medical Assistant course in 2009. I immediately began caring for a senior couple and assisting them with everything in their daily lives. They were so appreciative of me and that made me feel so grateful that I was a part of their lives. I'm compassionate, caring, loving, understanding and a great listener. But most of all a wonderful companion for any senior.

I am a caring, patient caregiver. That understands people from time to time in their lives need a little helping hand. I truly feel that I am put on this Earth to take care of others. I have experience with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Most of my clients have had this unfortunate disease I have many ideas to stay active and healthy for the mind and body I also have a background in a medical facility as well. As a child, I always knew I would be taking care of people in need as I got older. As a Cna, I am able to do that and much more. I enjoy what I do. I treat my patients as if they were family.

I'm a very patient,caring,& loving person,and have 7years experience in caregiving. Seven years ago my great-grandmother became ill while, caring for her I learned how to care for the elderly and their needs and the patients that it takes. I like the idea of helping others.
