The main reason why I make an amazing caregiver is that I was in a freak accident and was expected to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. However, with the help of a awesome medical team around me I made a full recovery. I chose to become a Home Health Care Aide because I understand how to truly help someone in need. Patience is the key ingredient to being a great caregiver. I was in a wheelchair for 4 years, without the patience of my Dr's, nurses, family and friends I would have given up and been stuck in my wheelchair. I am determined to make a difference in as many lives as possible.

I am very compassionate and have a heart for the elderly and feel that my patient should be cared for as if it were my own parents.Had the opportunity to work with a young person who was very I'll and fell in love with the work. I am proud of the fact that I have been requested to care for family members after spending one day with the family choosing me instead of a current caregiver.

I am very experienced and reliable working with the senior population. I am currently working for a Home Health in Ithaca part time and private home care. I worked private care for seniors, hourly and live-in, for 10 years. I have my PCA but prefer duties more companion care related I worked 8 years for a non for profit agency, working with independent adults with developmental disabilities and special needs. I am a country girl who believes our elderly should stay in their own homes. I have cared for several family members during hospice care. My mom and dad are both deceased.
